Sustainable vacation
When you read sustainable vacation, a few things may come to mind. Eco-tourism, volunteering in third world countries, or planting trees in the Brazilian rainforest. What people forget is that to get to these places they use a giant metal machine that flies 10,000+ feet in the air for up to 12 hours. So however sustainable it may feel, you are still fucking up the environment pretty bad.
So what then is sustainable vacation? In the end, it seems to come down to a boring trip close to home, with the same shit weather, the same shit food and the same shit people. But think again, it doesn’t need to be that way. Below, find the steps (including pictures) on how to sustainably spend your next break week. (Unless you’re going skiing, then go skiing cause that is super fun)
Step 1. Gather friends you can hang out with for a longer period of time.
Step 2. Also bring Tim
Step 3. Rent an electric van with a very small radius for added excitement
Step 4. Visit parents (and get wasted) in places such as Dongen, Houten, Almere Almere, and Nijmegen
Step 5. Enjoy your hangovers
Step 6. Play Kolonisten van Catan, but enjoy responsibly (Jappie small player)
Step 7. Copy the Storm Chasers
Step 8. Go swimming even though it is fucking cold
Step 9. Don’t forget to charge! (No Units were harmed in this picture)
Step 10. Climb some pointless steps in the ugliest city in the world to celebrate you are saving the earth with your vacation.
Step 11. Take some very photogenic pictures of jappie.
Step 12. Hug a tree to celebrate your sustainable Vacation.
If you follow these steps, you too can have an amazing yet sustainable vacation! If any steps are unclear, contact Unit at unitbv571@gmail.com. Or speak to one of us!
